Pokhara: Nepali Congress (NC) General-Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa outlined numerous opportunities for the NC to showcase its capabilities and address the frustrations of the people. Emphasizing adherence to the party statute, Thapa stressed the need for the party to operate within its established framework.

During the inaugural meeting of the Nepali Congress in Pokhara, Gandaki Province, Thapa asserted that individuals should not receive multiple opportunities to serve in the National Assembly. He emphasized the prestige of the National Assembly and proposed that new political scholars who have not yet had the chance to participate should be given the opportunity.

Thapa underscored the importance of local leaders and workers in areas where elections are held in selecting candidates. He expressed a clear stance, stating, "If there is an attempt to manipulate the candidate selection process, those involved should regret their actions for the rest of their lives."

Addressing the historical resilience of the Congress party in the face of Maoist attacks and panchayat challenges, Thapa urged party members not to fear and assured them that the Congress workers should cast their votes only for the party. He concluded, "Even if we lose and have to sit in the dust, Congress workers should not cast their votes anywhere else except for the tree."
